Young Miss J.... and her bestie Miss L...... are doing a dance at her schools talent contest tomorrow.... And of course,Young Miss J decided that I needed to make her and her bestie a vest each.... I had very strict instructions that one was to be black and one grey.... So today .... made the vests for them both......

I used a Burda Pattern and reduced the size for them.... pretty please with how they worked out.....

I did get a full dress reshearsal and dance tonight... Just to make sure it all works.... he he... Oh to be young.... :)

Quilters Block Swap No.1

I have joined a quilters swap block group...... which is a bit exciting but daunting at the same time..... I am thinking that my swap person will be looking at my sewing .... critiquing it...... So... I was very careful when sewing my block... to make sure it looked neat and wasn't going to fall apart... he he....
Sew.... anyway my 1st block swap person is Teresa from Portugal ... her blog is. (if you wanted to have a look she has some great things.... )
I have completed my block which is a bit exciting..... I hope I have done it right... it is an Autograph star block... so here it is!!!  tad ah!! I do love tone on tone fabrics.... he he

Now I just have to post it to Teresa..... don't want to be late on my first swap.....

Busy Week

I have been working on a new quilt.. I am the sort of sewer who has quite a few projects going at once.... maybe not the most efficient... But it is how I like to work, especially if I am designing something new... I like to make a potrtion of it... view it for a while and think about what I will do next....

Here is a sneak peek......

I am also rearranging my sewing room... so I have travelled to Sydney and picked up an old treadle sewing machine for a new overlocker table, and some other bits and pieces. ...... Have I told you I do like old furniture and collectables.... I have also been lucky enough to find a 100 year old hand crank Singer Sewing machine..... I love it...

New Gadget (Foot) for my sewing machine

When I visited my friend Val's shop - My Patch, the other day.... we had a bit of show and tell of the Husquvarna machines and she showed me a new foot attachment which does yarn couching....... I did not know this existed... BUT I had a go of the machine with the foot and can I say I loved It!!!!!... so of course I had to buy the attachment for my machine..... and I decided to have a play with it today...... Now I need to design something to do some yarn couching......  It works by threading the wool, (I used some gold wool I had for some crafting) through a hole in the foot.... You set your machine for free motion quilting and it is pretty much as simple as that..... then off you go.......  On my first go..... Its true I wrote my daughters name...... You could stipple all over a cushion,. follow a design...... Oh no What to do.......

Just thought you might like to know what is out there....... cheers.....
